It's a Party! Burnaby Village Museum hosts Burnaby’s Official Canada Day celebrations offering visitors the backdrop of its 1920s village streets, family entertainment including a musicians, displays & demonstrations. Admission is free on this day. (Carousel rides are $2.00) There will be something for everyone to enjoy: children can join in the heritage games, get their face painted and have a laugh with children’s entertainer Marc-Andre Lafleur; adults can listen to the captivating music of Celticalia or tap their toes to tunes performed by the North Shore Celtic Ensemble. The Living Statues will entertain and surprise ---- and of course there will be an official parade, with a bag piper and colour party in attendance. The delicious birthday cakes will be served at 2:30pm Be sure to bring your cameras and pose for a picture at one of our many photo stops or with members of the Burnaby RCMP detachment, in their splendid red serge uniforms. Academie Duello will once again amaze audiences with their scintillating sword play, while instructors from the Burnaby Art Gallery will invite the public to make a colourful masterpiece. Also City of Burnaby staff will be on hand to answer your questions on recycling. Footlight Theatre will perform Vaudeville Varieties at Noon, 1: 00pm, 3:00pm and 4:00pm. The day ends with a performance by Traditions who will perform a series of French Canadian dances.
