Celebrate Our Gold Medal Past and our Gold Medal Future
Thursday, 9:30am-1:30pm
Burnaby Village Museum
Free admission

Join us for a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see the Olympic Flame in Burnaby and feel inspired by its universal message of peace, brotherhood and friendship.

Watch as the Olympic Torch is carried through the 1920s village and salute Canada’s Olympic past at the first Olympic Winter Games held in 1924 in Chamonix, France. Activities include a two-minute ceremonial stop, musical entertainment from neighbouring schools, costumed interpreters wearing replicas of the 1924 Olympic ceremonial uniform for Canada and a Family
Scavenger Hunt featuring trivia from the first Winter Olympics.

With a large attendance anticipated, the community is advised to take public transit to the Village and arrive early. In addition, there will be "rolling" road closures to allow for the torch bearers and support vehicles to pass through Burnaby. Show your spirit – wear red and white to the celebration!
